Introducing Mini, the shining star of Forest Lakes Poodles!

Mini, now AKC Champion Forest Lakes She Makes it Look EZ!, made her debut in the show ring with a bang, clinching the prestigious Best Puppy in Show award on her very first outing.

Born from the illustrious pairing of her mother, Katie—Am CH U-SGCH Katmary’s Rainbow of Forest Lakes DCAT CGC TKN RACEA DASH TDx2 (ranked as the number 5 poodle in UKC for 2023 and number 9 for 2024 with limited showing)—and her sire, MBIS BISS MRBIS Can GCHG Am GCH CH Litilann’s Wintergarden Style N’ Eaze (the 2023 top-ranked poodle in Canada and the number 2 sporting dog), Mini boasts an impeccable pedigree that speaks volumes about her potential.

Mini’s Beginning

While Mini’s litter may have been small, with only one pup, her arrival was eagerly anticipated by all who knew of the extraordinary lineage she descends from. A stroke of serendipity occurred when Porsche, another cherished member of our breeding program, had a litter just four days after Katie. In a heartwarming twist of fate, Porsche’s guardian chose to have the litter whelped at our home.

Katie, always the nurturing type, graciously welcomed not just one, but three of Porsche’s pups into her care, ensuring that neither she nor her good friend Porsche were overwhelmed. This act of maternal instinct not only provided a loving environment for Porsche’s puppies but also ensured ample milk production for all involved.

Indeed, all eight puppies were blessed with the love and care of two devoted mothers who happily shared the duties of motherhood. With Katie and Porsche taking turns nurturing and caring for the litter, each puppy received double the love, attention, and guidance as they embarked on their journey into the world. This nurturing environment undoubtedly contributed to the well-being and development of each puppy, instilling in them a strong foundation of love and support that will stay with them throughout their lives.

Although Mini’s journey began with a gentle and reserved demeanor, it wasn’t long before she blossomed into the vibrant and spirited personality she is today. Surrounded by the playful energy of her adopted siblings, Mini’s reserved nature melted away, revealing a flirty, loving temperament and an undeniable zest for life. It was amidst the camaraderie of her canine companions that Mini truly came into her own, embracing each moment with boundless joy and enthusiasm.

On her 20-week ‘birthday’, Mini attended the United Poodle Association’s National Specialty at the UKC Premier Nationals, a global showcase for top dogs! She wowed both the judge and the audience, outperforming five other dogs, three of whom were just days away from turning six months old and aging out of the novice class.

Mini’s Rising Show Career

After a dazzling puppy debut, Mini took a break to grow up before returning to the AKC ring in spring 2025. She came out to win on March 22, picking up four majors in March and April. During that run, she also claimed a prestigious win at the Poodle Club of America Nationals, where she won the American-bred class—a notable accomplishment amid some of the most successful and respected kennel names in the breed.

Mini wrapped up her AKC Championship with her final points in May, officially earning her AKC Champion title on May 23, 2025. An incredible achievement for this young and dynamic girl!

Join us as we watch this rising star continue to dazzle and impress on her journey to greatness.
